"4 poster room"

Anon, stayed: February 2024
Lovely spacious twin aspect room with views over extensive beautifully maintained grounds, restaurant overlooks same aspect making breakfast an occasion every morning with the prospect of being able to eat outside during warmer weather. Staff very friendly and helpful. Quiet location with own golf course. Public areas pleasant and comfortable. Food excellent, one of the best burger patties I have ever tasted.

"Shendish Manor - One of our favourite places to relax"

Kathleen H, Essex, stayed: July 2023
This is our 3rd stay at Shendish Manor. A little confusion re length of stay and room prepared as double instead of single. However, no problem - very quickly sorted by extremely efficient and friendly staff. Added bonus - beautiful wedding took place during our stay - happy days!

"Very mixed feelings"

Honest Silverhead, Hampshire, stayed: September 2021
We booked this hotel for this specific weekend in order to attend a celebration event of some good friends, and the event itself was lovely - could not be faulted. Other things left quite a lot to be desired. Our room was a four poster and was spacious. It had an attractive new carpet and new wall covering but other items were distinctly tired/shabby, even threadbare in places. The TV had no remote control. The shower drain was blocked, and we were allocated just one very hard pillow each, so a strange mixture of "luxury" and lack of attention. We were appalled to see a pile of rubbish including old furniture and old golf buggies in sight of the entrance to the Manor house itself, which demonstrated a lack of pride. The worst aspect was the restaurant, where they simply do not cater for someone who needs to be gluten free. They remove items from a dish and do not offer a substitute e.g. sea bass served with samphire only, - tomatoes, tomato dressing, and potato just removed! Breakfast was distinctly ordinary - no grapefruit or prunes or GF cereals. It was a great disappointment.
