This place is fantastic. We went on a fizz weekend break so had an allowance of 70 for the first nights meal plus two glasses of fizz. The restaurant prices have risen quite sharply in the last 12 months. Don t get me wrong the food is excellent but maybe the wrong side of London pricing. 8oz fillet steak is 40. It was good but not the best I ve ever had. Seem to remember that the peppercorn sauce was extra as well. I would recommend here for a stay but be prepared for high prices.

We booked through Off Peak Luxury as we wanted a spa weekend retreat, bit we did not know that the spa and swimming pool were being refurbished until we arrive. This was a great disappointment. The hotel staff said we should have recieved an e mail from the hotel saying this. We did not recieve an [] from them about this. This was part of my 60th birthday present so was very disappointing. Food was good, but 2nd day breakfast was disappointing as only just luke warm.

We were looking for a short break to allow us to relax and switch off, we were not disappointed. Rutland Hall was a great place, right on the lake and with great views. The restaurant was top notch, great food well presented - the cod loin was amazing.
