We were looking for a hotel with a nice room & a relaxing atmosphere, and we certainly got that at Poets House. A fantastic room, that was spacious and luxurious. The restaurant staff were welcoming & helpful, and the food was excellent. The location of the hotel makes this a quiet & relaxing place to stay that offers a bit of luxury. It is well positioned to visit Ely cathedral. I was a bit dubious about the hotel stating that there is no car parking but they do have their own area in the public car park which is a few minutes walk away, and you are able to stop at the hotel first to drop your luggage. So all in all a very nice break, and will be going back in the future.

The Poets House Hotel is ideally situated to visit the cathedral and Oliver Cromwell's house. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful especially Mercedes who served us in the restaurant. The room was of a good size, comfortable and good facilities. The only downside were the marks on the wall where drink or something had been splashed and not wiped off.
