The Amador family re-built the Victorian walled garden, which was covered by a landslide in the early 1900s, built a tennis court and outbuildings, as well as the Tudor Gothic front porch and for the last 10 years have been tirelessly transforming Paschoe House back to its former glory.
History of the hotel
The Paschoe Estate dates back to the 13th Century but was first recorded in the Domesday Book in 1611 and owned by the Hamlyn family, who also held seats at Clovelly Court, Langdon Court and Leawood. In the early 1800s, it was noticed that the House was starting to subside and so the decision was made to raze it to the ground and re-build it 'more modestly' on higher ground – and so came into existence the Paschoe House that you see today, designed by the official architect of the Exeter Diocesan Architectural Society, John Hayward, and completed in the 1850s.
If you are anything like us and you just can't bear to go anywhere without your furry friend then do not fear – Paschoe is here to offer you and your fur babies the perfect petaway full of country walks and naps in front of one of their fires.
They will provide your loved one(s) with their own bed, bowls, toys and treats upon arrival.
After a long walk, there are lovely fresh towels waiting to wipe down your pooch in the porch but if he/she is incredibly dirty, hand them over to one of the staff and we will be more than happy to give them a wash with their luxury doggie shampoo.
They have three luxury dog friendly rooms from the Spacious and Sensational categories, and they are also more than welcome in the Library Bar and Morning Room downstairs.
Paschoe House is dog friendly, dogs are welcome throughout the hotel except for the dining room. Please advise the team upon booking if you are bringing your dog as there are a selection of dog friendly rooms. A dog charge of £15 per dog per night is applicable
