Room was nice, parking was good albeit have to pay. Breakfast was nice although slightly disappointing that have to pay supplements for any cooked items other than full English- most hotels with eggs Benedict etc on cooked menu are included. Only two things re the room that would be better is a hairdryer that you don t have to hold the button down on to use- with long hair this makes drying impossible and it was not very powerful. The second thing is only provide shower gel in the bathroom. This is fine for men but I cannot wash my hair with shower gel. Would have been better if they had a refill shampoo at least even if conditioner not provided. Steak on the al a carte menu not cooked as requested but they did discount it when this was advised. Otherwise a good hotel great location. May consider staying again not sure

Not sure what it would be like in peak season could see it being very busy, just for where it is.

Stayed for two nights would not return. PROS Fabulous staff, great spa treatment, fabulous location dog friendly CONS Very average breakfast, I have never been anywhere that expects you to pay a supplement for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or eggs Benedict.. Breakfast on the second morning there was only one member of staff on duty due to staff sickness, the poor lady was at her wits end trying to serve 40 people. A manager should have stepped in to help if no one else was available. Quality was on a part with a Travelodge not what I would expect from a hotel that rates itself as 4 star. Bedrooms and public areas are very tired and dates. Bathrooms don t even give you any toiletries, a generic shower gel nailed to the wall and a small bar of soap doesn t scream luxury to me. Scuffed furniture marks on carpet, gaffer tape holding bits of carpet down in central areas the whole place needs a refurb. The restaurant is very dated as well. We had the other car menu on the second night which was absolutely delicious, but phenomenally expensive i.e. mains upward of 30 before sides. Sneakily they don t put any prices on the menu that is in reception so you re sitting duck. Only 4 cocktails on the bar menu and no training for the young staff to make anything new, I did however teach one how to make a negroni also the wine list is awful. I have stayed in a few of peak luxury hotels and this was the worst one, the location is incredible, but the hotel is average at best
