"Perfect setting"

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay at the Lugger for a two night romantic break. The South West coast path is literally as you step out of the door, which is ideal for the more adventurous! We were up early on the Sunday morning and decided to walk up the path and watch the sunrise, which was beautiful, definitely worth it! The 'extras' such as the hot chocolate, weather forecast and delicious lemon cake were appreciated. Have already recommended this hotel to several friends.

"Weekend away at The Lugger"

To celebrate my wife's birthday, a surprise weekend was booked at The Lugger (with no kids in tow, but joined by a our cocker spaniel dog). I chose the venue for its remote location and positive web-site reviews. Arriving in Portloe, descending to The Lugger, the views are spectacular. On arrival, we were warmly greeted and shown to our room. The room was comfortable and pleasant. Located next to the car-park was not ideal but, we didn't let that dampen our enthusiasm. The Hotel is located directly adjacent to a small beach and network of footpaths - having a beer on the terrace, overlooking the 'harbour', was so rewarding.

"Winter warmer"

The Lugger was an exceptional find, with excellent friendly and courteous staff. The food was inspired and the location was stunning. The only downside was the room we stayed in had very poor soundproofing and you could hear the guests above us walking around and talking.

"A delightful seaside snug"

Carleen K, Devon, stayed: April 2016

Nestled in a tiny fishing cove the Lugger combined rustic surrounds with a boutique hotel offer. Staff were courteous and efficient. The restaurant offered excellent gourmet food with the singular exception of the cheese plate which was little with the cheese and generous with the plate!
