"A great place to stay"

We were really impressed with Lakeside Hotel. From the moment we arrived until our final goodbye, staff were really kind and helpful - as a disabled traveller, that isn t what you always get! The rooms were beautifully clean and very comfortable and well equipped. The restaurant service was good, although the menu is a little limited, The food itself is very good. The pool is amazing and the gardens are lovely. We couldn t fault it and will be returning in the spring

The food and service in the main restaurant was exemplary. The Brasserie was the opposite for dinner second night. Service quite slow, Rediculously high priced pie for what was served to me and my wifes fish was very heavily battered around a small fillet. We had no check back on either my starter or our mains which was very disappointing after such a great experience in the main restaurant on our first night

A few points - the staff were mainly great, but seemed short-staffed in the main restaurant. We were only 1 of 4 or 5 occupied tables on our last night, only 2 persons waiting and we had to ask several times for drinks, plates to be cleared away etc. We had asked for toast with our coffee on the terrace in the morning and were told very abruptly that the kitchen was closed till lunchtime.

Amazing location. Friendly service at check in. Offered a lake view for a small upgrade fee which we took and the view was amazing over the lake. Good vibe to the place helped by the great weather so everyone was sat outside and in the conservatory. Used the pool and sauna in the morning which was lovely also. We had a dinner, bed, breakfast and bottle of Prosecco package deal which we felt was good value for money. Would come again.
