The Lake District is one of the most beautiful areas of the UK, surrounded by breath taking scenery, scenic walks to suit all abilities, and a breadth of wonderful visitor attractions right on the doorstep.
A lake cruise is a must, and you can get to many of the neighbouring towns by boat too.
The famous village of Cartmel is just 10 miles away from Lakeside and is home to a wide variety of traditional Lakeland inns, tea rooms and cutting edge gourmet restaurants, including the internationally acclaimed Michelin Star restaurant, L'Enclume. There's also the 12th Century Priory, and a racecourse.
No visit to the Lakes would be complete without learning more about Beatrix Potter, and The World of Beatrix Potter is located in Bowness itself.
There are a number of walks that can be enjoyed from the hotel, from a leisurely stroll around the lake or Great Knott Wood, to a more ambitious hike. The hotel are happy to recommend routes nearby.
