"Disappointing, not a proper hotel."

Judging by the description and the photograph, we were expecting to be staying in a small country hotel. However, this is really just an upmarket holiday complex. The Grounds were well kept, but instead of a nice garden, there are holiday lodges surrounding the old house. There is no hotel atmosphere at all. The staff were all very friendly and efficient, but there was no proprietor or manager visible.

We stayed for 3 nights in a Garden Suite which were lovely and very unique. The whole property and grounds are beautiful with plenty of places to sit out and enjoy the weather and a tipple. All the staff were friendly and very helpful, they are a big asset to hotel. The restaurant had a nice ambience, varied menu and good food.
