Hotel good, only complaint was we could not turn the rad off so the room was hot at night even with the window open.

It's a really lovely hotel in a great location on the high street. Tastefully decorated throughout.

Very convenient hotel in an interesting historic high street. Good parking facility at the rear of the hotel but no access to the car park except via the front entrance so great care is needed walking with luggage where cars drive in as there is no separate path. We booked a double room which was spacious and had a good sized bathroom. However there was only a small wardrobe with one shelf over, no other cupboard storage so we used suitcases for this. The bed was a double but felt cramped. The heating was on, which was needed, but there was no accessible temperature control in the room. Our room looked out into a central well in the buildings over the heating vents so opening the window would have been noisy. We did not have a good night sleep. The bathroom had an over-bath shower but no slip mat in the bath. There was a radiator with towel rail attached. This was not on when we arrived nor during the first night so the bathroom was cold and towels remained wet. The housekeeping staff were very helpful next morning with a supply of new towels, which was not automatic as from October 4th the hotel has adopted a policy of only servicing rooms every other day. We were not made aware of this on arrival. Apparently their room prices reflect this. On departure we saw there was a typed note to this effect on a window ledge at the back of reception. Housekeeping reported the radiator issue to maintenance. When we returned later the second afternoon however the rail was still off and had obviously remained so. We were not happy that when we reported the continued problem to the reception staff they treated it with doubt instead of an apology. They had a note maintenance had fixed it. When we returned later in the evening it had however been fixed.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location. Our room was lovely and big with comfy bed. The restaurant was really nice with such friendly staff. Old town is very nice with lots of nice bars and restaurants! The whole weekend was brilliant. I will be returning.
