A short stay to celebrate my wife birthday

Once again, for an Off Peak Luxury location, we found the staff to be very professional yet friendly and received a very good welcome to the hotel. Although only a 2-night stay we quickly became familiar with the hotel, the staff that looked after us and the superb location with views across the countryside.
The bedroom was a good size and very comfortable and the restaurant has good spacing between the tables for privacy. When we expressed a preference for one particular table the staff remembered on the following night and set it up for us. Likewise for our preferred drinks before dinner - the waiter just checked with a smile that we wanted the same as the previous evening.
The restaurant food was good without being pretentious.
