The stunning location, views and grounds are absolutely fabulous. The Hotel itself is a delightfully characterful building and rooms are very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Staff unfailingly helpful and friendly. My only slight disappointment was with the dinners each evening. I have learned that I need to look more closely at your website in future! The sample menus for this hotel actually date from 2014! Current menus far less interesting and varied. Food was OK but not particularly gourmet or interesting and we struggled a bit to choose something on the second night. Wine list was OK On the other hand breakfast was superb - the home made bread was particularly good and again staff outstanding
We had glorious weather and a lovely relaxing time but just that slight disappointment because the food is what we look for when choosing a hotel!
Another slight shock to my husband was being charged 5 per night to charge the car - we would not have bothered with our hybrid car had we realised!
