Sadly the customer service really let this beautiful place down, from waiting at checkin to breakfast and a sense of being an inconvenience to the staff. Definitely not 5 star and not a weekend we would look to repeat.

We stayed here for 3 nights with another couple and enjoyed the weekend. 3 nights was too long in the restaurant as the menu didn't change and was not very extensive. also the 1.5 hour wait for our main course was unacceptable particularly when we told they were busy with a party. we were offered a free bottle of wine to compensate for the wait but it shouldn't have happened.

We booked to stay at Ellenborough Park for my wife's 30th birthday and found everything about Ellenborough Park perfect. The food in the restaurants and bar area was great with waiter and hotel staff very helpful and friendly. We had a fantastic room which was spacious, luxurious with a very large bathroom, powerful shower and roll top bath. The grounds are stunning and we were able to take a pleasant walk around Cheltenham Racecourse and through neighbouring Prestbury. The spa was fantastic and both myself and my wife booked in for a full body massage which was totally relaxing followed by use of the jacuzzi and steam room and sauna. The outdoor swimming pool was heated and was great to go for mid-morning swim, even in January! Overall we had a perfectly relaxing weekend and will definitely be back. Thank you!

booked Ellenborough Park for my husband's special birthday and we weren't disappointed on arrival. The approach is very impressive and the building beautiful with such character. The welcome was very friendly and all the staff members were only too happy to chat and impart very useful information or just pass the time. I have to say it was a little disappointing to find the restaurant closed for dinner as I had a nice frock to wear but we ended up sitting in the atrium which was a little chilly and didn't feel particularly special but the chateaubriand was excellent. To be honest I am not really sure why the restaurant was closed since the horse box was much smaller and so people appeared quite closely seated, whereas they could have been much more spaced out in the restaurant. The only other thing to mention was the real fire in the lounge, whilst it was lovely to see an open fire in such wonderful surroundings, I think the chimney may have needed sweeping as the smoke was quite choking at times. All this having said, we had a thoroughly lovely time and wouldn't hesitate to stay again (perhaps in the summer months when we could enjoy the outdoor spaces!)
