Beautiful location, lovely hotel. The staff were absolutely wonderful could not fault them, so very helpful and sincerely happy about there work. The room was lovely. the lighting was a bit 'Starship Enterprise' took some working out. Did not like the light coming on in the toilet at night, we did have to cover up the sensor,(removed it before we left!). All the rooms were fabulous, the big baronial hall was very cold, understandable, yes but the only other public room available was the Cocktail Bar and then you felt you had to buy a drink/drinks which did add significantly to the cost. All in all we loved it. It was a real treat for us, especially as we had our family join us for lunch in the lovely restaurant

The hotel is probably best to visit when weather is warmer. It s a wonderful oldie worldie hotel with history from WW2 but with this, you should expect cold corridors, unheated large lounge and unheated parts of restaurants. Our room was warm however , as was the sections of restaurant where we ate breakfast and dinner and the bar lounge had extra heaters placed around. Restaurant served fairly fussy French style dining and chef kindly gave my lamb shank a little longer cooking at my request. Dessert was lovely. Breakfast was delicious. Restaurant and Reception staff were friendly and helpful- even taking us into Marlow when taxi took too long to arrive. Spa was the highlight of my stay with treatments and big pool , towels, products, sauna and steam room. Gym offered acceptable equipment although there was no one around to help with anything there. Grounds and terrace are beautiful and afternoon tea there must be delightful.

Apart from our room which had no hot water the first night was a disappointing experience we had to ask a different menu as there was nothing on there first menu the restaurant was a nice room was warm as the bar was freezing when we had ordered a meal a member of staff arrived to apologise for the cold water and paid for our wine the thing that spoiled our evening was after we politely asked for a ten minute break before our main course unfortunately it was brought up within one minute!!! asked to take back went on deaf ears the breakfast was good

My daughter and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay between Christmas and New Year. The staff were very welcoming, the room was modern and clean. The evening meal and breakfast were both delicious.
