We had a room in the lodge - an image you would think is a single storey room in the grounds. It happened to be on the third floor of a building tucked around the back of the castle which would in the past be "servants quarters".
"Good relaxing break away"

The accommodation was excellent. Clean and well looked after.

We had a lovely stay at Dalhousie, it was a great wedding present. The meal in the dungeon restaurant was outstanding, as was the dinner service. Unfortunately the spa was having some renovations done so the laconium was closed. The steam room was also unusable due to being extremely hot, and the pool is too small to swim. The breakfast service was slow and it would be better if you could help yourself to tea, coffee and juice/water. We loved the comfy big bed though!
"Mixed experience"

The castle is stunning. Our four poster room was lovely. Bathroom slightly dated but overall the room was less shabby than we'd been led to expect from other reviews. Falconry experience (booked separately) was amazing. Spa was nice- lovely facial booked at last minute. Great cocktails in the bar. Both dinners were nice. Service was mixed. The younger staff were inexperienced but friendly. The older staff not friendly. Various communication breakdowns marred our stay - being told on Friday night that breakfast was served until 1030 to be told on Saturday that it stopped at 1000 and we had missed it. Ordering a cream tea to go but no sign of it went we arrived to collect. The local walks are lovely but be careful - we got horribly lost in the woods!!
