This was for a special occasion- delayed honeymoon.
We were not told there was an American Wedding party - this meant we were not Important and had to put up with loud rude obnoxious people. We actually booked a meal In Edinburgh as we couldn t stand another night in the castle due to the noise.
We were out in the lodge which was very tired , Broken tiles on the floor in the bathroom, Mould on the windows a broken shower, broken bed and the walls were dirty and scuffed.
The first evening meal was lovely and service was great .
We were told we had to turn up 30mins before, but couldn t go into the room we were supposed to for drinks due to the Wedding Party so we were put in the library.
The first morning breakfast was met with very loud rude Americans who kept moving tables it was painful.
The second morning was lovely just 2 tables in the orangery and we had lovely Kim.
Very disappointing, we spoke to reception when we checked out and they didn t charge us for the extras/to be honest that was the least they could do.
On a serious note they had candle light bulbs in spot lights and when walking from the car park to the lodge no lighting - very dangerous.
I have pictures to back up all my claims which were showed to the hotel. Also the internet didn t work.
We were told the castle had just been taken over and big refurb plans were happening in 2025- doesn t help us.
