Amazing time on burgh Island and at the hotel. Everything was as expected. All set in the 1930's and had excellent staff who were always helpful. Was very nice to experience going back in time. Piano played while we were at dinner. Nothing was too much for the staff. It was very relaxing. From the time we were collected from our car to be taken over to hotel we felt looked after and welcomed.

Splendid sanctuary, where one can revel in the art-deco styling. Dressing up for evening dinner in the Ballroom is the highlight of the stay but the relaxing evening in the cosy Pilchard Inn with a curry and pint of Jail Ale was a delightful start to our stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A welcoming glass of champagne was most appreciated after a long journey to S. Devon. Even though the room was beautifully fitted out with original art deco furniture, mirrors, lamps and period pictures, it was a shame the lounge had a large crack down one wall and the bathroom had peeling paint. But the bed was wonderfully comfortable with luxurious pillows. The fluffy dressing gown was nice but I would've expected some simple towelling slip-on slippers. Overall, we had a lovely 2-night stay and is a must for any special occasion.
