As always, the rudimentary star ratings don't tell the whole story, which is even better than the stars suggest. A particular appeal of this hotel is that the grounds and the surrounding walks are far-reaching enough, the grandeur of the castle and its sizeable public rooms extensive enough, and the two excellent restaurants diverse enough that, should you choose, it would be quite possible to holiday here for days on end without ever venturing further afield. And that's before you factor in the appeal of the sizeable swimming pool, the beautiful golf course, and the spa.

A lovely hotel in a stunning location, with a very friendly atmosphere. The staff could not have been more helpful, friendly or attentive. Great attention to detail in every respect. The food was tasty & well presented. Our castle room was excellent with glorious views. We enjoyed our stay so much, we booked an extra night!
