"Fabulous treat"

The only criticism is that due to the position of our room, there was a lot of noise due a) renovation work being carried out to one of the ground floor reception rooms and b) staff setting up the restaurant, which was next to our room. However, this did not take away from a fabulous break and a much needed oasis of calm and luxury, in no small part due to the wonderful staff, we will return as soon as we can.

From the valet parking and our luggage being taken to the room for us when the room was ready, to the friendly and obliging staff we found our stay to be a lovely experience. Not stuffy, not patronising- just friendly. We ate in both the bistro and the restaurant and actually enjoyed the meals in the bistro more, but that was just down to our selections. The beef wellington was technically pretty perfect but the flavour in the beef was a let-down.

Brilliant 2 night stay, location outstanding and staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough. Fine dining was good, but Smith Brasserie and breakfast was a bit "hit and miss". Would certainly stay again, but if improved the Brasserie dining would be back time and time again.
