"Great location"

Enjoyed our short stay. I was disappointed to find that the main restaurant was closed and the Brasserie was nothing special.. I booked on a DB&B basis so this compounded the disappointment.

A beautiful drive down to the hotel past the golf course to the castle started a fantastic stay at the hotel, a warm welcome was given as we arrived and we were soon shown to our rooms. They were perfect. Our deal included breakfast and evening meal and the food was very nice our only gripe was that the menu never changed and they did not do a special etc. each night so you could have a different choice. I particularly do not like fish and at least 70% of the menu had fish even the soup was fish. This then meant on my 4 night stay i had to have the same food on a couple of nights. The food was excellent but i do like a bit more choice. The location was great for all the places we wanted to visit. Well worth the stay

We have been to stay at Bovey Castle a few times . We have stayed in the main hotel and also the lodges.

Unfortunately the sauna was closed and the buffet for breakfast unavailable, which is understandable due to Covid-19, but made use of the other facilities such as the tennis and swimming pool. There are other activities, but we decided to either relax or take walks instead.
