We stayed in the Pheasant room which was all we hoped for as it was spacious, tastefully furnished, probably the largest bathroom experienced in recent years and with good rural views including the River Nith. Food was really good served in a delightful restaurant with tables laid out spaciously.

We stayed in one of the cottages with our 2 dogs. The hotel is very dog friendly and the staff set up a table for us in a little conservatory for meals as we couldn't take the dogs into the restaurant, so we were given very personal service. The food was really good, with an Italian twist. Beautiful surroundings with a nice walk along the river. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Initial welcome wasn't the best, the complimentry upgrade doesn't exist, they don't have suites, not very organised to which package we had, had to ask for included prosecco at dinner, subsequently charged for next morning at check out,then taken off bill. On a more positive note eveningeal was fantastic & room was nice.
