History of the hotel
The Elms was built in 1710 and designed by Thomas White, a pupil of Sir Christopher Wren. White's other work includes the Guildhall at Worcester, which contains many features similar to the house. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the carriage drive was once lined with elm trees, though these have long died out and been replaced with limes.
The Elms has acres of grounds and open countryside in every direction, so they always give a warm welcome to dogs.
